Kirk McKeown is the Head of Proprietary Research at Point72. A senior member of the Firm’s Market Intelligence group, Mr. McKeown leads the Firm’s teams engaged in acquiring and analyzing data and turning those analyses into products for use by the Firm’s investment professionals. Mr. McKeown comes to this role after creating and building Point72’s proprietary private company research platform and the team that synthesizes the Firm’s data for use by its investment teams.
Prior to joining Point72, Mr. McKeown was a Managing Director at Glenview Capital Management where he built and managed the firm’s proprietary research platform. Before that, Mr. McKeown was an Analyst at Hunter Global Investors, a long/short fund. Earlier in his career, Mr. McKeown was a research analyst at Tudor Ventures, the venture capital arm of Tudor Investment Corporation.
Matt Ober is the Chief Data Scientist at Third Point. His focus is on integrating quantitative analysis into the fundamental investment processes. Before coming to Third Point, Mr. Ober spent over 5 years at WorldQuant LLC where he was the Head of Data Strategy. Prior to WorldQuant LLC, he worked at Bloomberg on the analytics team. Mr. Ober is a CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Association) holder and earned his B.S. in Finance at California State University Chico.
Matthew Rothman serves as Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, and Senior Lecturer in Finance at MIT's Sloan School of Management.
Matthew is currently responsible for developing the Data as a Service business at Goldman Sachs. Prior to this, he worked as the Global Head of Quant Research at Credit Suisse and the Director of Quant Global Macro Research at Acadian Asset Management.
Leyla joined Bristol Gate Capital Partners in 2011, bringing her experience of software development and quantitative research from TD Bank. She initially led the data engineering and technology acquisition efforts to build the research infrastructure at Bristol Gate.
She further worked on developing predictive models and portfolio construction tools used by the portfolio managers. Her current focus is on research & adoption of new technologies across the firm and in the industry. She has a master’s degree in computer & biomedical engineering from the University of Toronto.
Chris Meredith is the Director of Research, Co-Chief Investment Officer and a Portfolio Manager at O’Shaughnessy Asset Management (OSAM). He is responsible for managing investment related activities at the firm: investment strategy research, portfolio management, and the firm’s trading efforts. He directs the Director of Portfolio Management and the Director of Trading on managing daily investment decisions. On the research side, Chris leads a team of analysts conducting research on new factors, improving existing stock selection and portfolio construction techniques.
Prior to joining OSAM, Chris was a Senior Research Analyst on the Systematic Equity team at BSAM. He was a Director at Oracle Corporation and spent eight years as a technology professional before attending the Johnson School at Cornell University.
Wojtek Fundamenski, B.Ap.Sc, M.Eng, Ph.D., M.B.A., F.Inst.P, has had a long and accomplished big science research career in the UK (Oxford & London), before embarking on a single minded mission to apply the same rigorous scientific methodology to the field of quantitative finance, especially to forecasting the price evolution of liquid assets.
After a year as a senior researcher at Winton Capital, he joined Teza Technologies, and over the past 6 years he has been a key player in the development of Teza's Asset Management business, building trading strategies for futures, currencies, ETFs and equities, many of which stemmed from Alternative Data inputs.
Abraham Thomas is the Chief Data Officer of Quandl, a company he and Tammer Kamel founded with the goal of making high-quality, valuable and unique data easy to find and easy to use. Abraham leads all data-related operations for Quandl: data acquisition and evaluation, data structuring and transformation, data science and research, and data delivery.
Abraham was previously a senior portfolio manager and head of US trading at Simplex Asset Management, a multi-billion-dollar quantitative hedge fund with offices in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Princeton. He has a degree in Engineering Physics from IIT Bombay.
Adam Broun is the Chief Executive Officer at Kensho, a company that applies machine intelligence to solve the hardest hard analytical problems for the world’s most sophisticated financial and governmental institutions. Kensho was acquired by S&P Global in March 2018.
Adam formerly served as Chief Information Officer, Front Office at Credit Suisse, covering all three revenue-generating divisions – Investment Banking, Private Banking and Asset Management. Prior to that, he was global head of IT Strategy for Credit Suisse since 2010.
Matt Kummell is a Director and Citi’s Head of Business Advisory Services for North America. The Business Advisory Services team conducts primary research across investors and investment managers and publishes thought leadership pieces focused on the evolution of the industry. These findings are used as the foundation for strategic consulting services that help individual clients address gaps or problem areas in their own organization.
In addition to his role on the Business Advisory team, Matt is a member of the Advisory Board for Citi’s Banamex Afore (Pension), the second largest Afore in Mexico with over $30 billion (US) in assets.Outside of Citi, Matt is an Adjunct Professor at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College where he teaches a course on strategy consulting called Client Project Management.
Prior to joining Citi, Matt held a variety of strategic and leadership roles in the hedge fund industry, spanning diverse topics including investment talent assessment and development, product development, and expansion into adjacent businesses. An early pioneer of alternative data with over a decade of of deep domain expertise, Evan joined Quandl in 2019. He previously served as the Global head of Data Strategy and Sourcing for BlueMountain Capital, where he sourced and managed the firm's alternative data, market and reference data, delayed and real-time, serving both quant and fundamental groups across all asset classes globally.
Prior to that, Evan was one of the first data engineers at Millennium Management, as well as contributing to the 2017 Nobel Prize winning project in Physics.

Peter Hafez is the head of data science at RavenPack. Mr. Sowerby is a portfolio manager for multiple investment strategies at Ancora. Prior to joining Ancora, David was most recently a Portfolio Manager at Loomis, Sayles & Company, where he worked since 1998 and held multiple senior positions. At Loomis, David worked directly with institutional clients on asset allocation strategies and multi-product accounts.
Earlier in his career, David served as a Senior Portfolio Manager for Beacon Investment Management Company. He began his industry career in 1986, providing investment strategy as an Economist for Comerica Bank.
Todd Mostak is the founder and CEO of OmniSci, an open source, accelerated analytics platform. Todd conceived of the idea of using GPUs to accelerate the extraction of insights from large datasets while conducting his Harvard Graduate research on the role of Twitter in the Arab Spring. Frustrated by the capabilities of conventional technologies to allow for the interactive exploration of these multi-million row datasets, Todd built one of the first GPU-based databases.
Upon completion of his studies at Harvard, Todd joined MIT as a research fellow at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, focusing on GPU databases and visualization before founding the company in late 2013.
Todd received his undergraduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Economics and Anthropology.
Venkat heads up Product Management at OmniSci. He joined OmniSci from the CTO office at Cray, the supercomputing pioneer, where he was responsible for leading Cray’s push into Analytics and AI. Earlier, he was Senior Director at YarcData, a pioneering graph analytics startup, where he bootstrapped product and data science/engineering teams. Prior to YarcData, he was a Director of Product Management at Oracle, where he led the launch of the Oracle Financial Services Data Platform, and earlier spent several years at Goldman Sachs, where he led one of the earliest successful projects utilizing machine learning in Operational Risk incident classification. Venkat is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the Indian Institute of Technology Chennai, and also a certified Financial Risk Manager.
